A Guide to the Best New Shops and Restaurants in Charleston
Charleston is an incredible area in South Carolina that brings historic charm balanced by a modern, joyful sensibility. What’s even better is that you can get everything you need. In this guide, you will discover fun things to do while you’re there. Rest assured that you’ll fall in love!
Charleston’s Best Breakfast Spots
A nice place where you can have breakfast or brunch is Island Provisions, which has just recently opened. It’s a perfect spot if you’re craving a smoothie or breakfast sandwich. Another beautiful spot to have your breakfast is Hampton Park. In early spring, all the camellia trees are in full bloom, making the place ideal for those Instagram shots.
For Art Lovers
Organize a fun girls’ night for you and your friends in First Friday Art Walk, which is run by the Charleston Gallery Association. They have monthly events where you can discover captivating artworks. Then, you can go for dinner and drinks. For pizza lovers, a must-visit place is Frannie & the Fox, which is part of the Emeline Hotel. Or, if you want to try something different, opt for Chez Nous. It feels like a little bit of Europe in Charleston, and the menu changes every night.
In the Know
If you’re interested in going on a classic history and historic gossip tour, you can explore the city with Walk & Talk Charleston. It is entertaining and informative, and we can’t recommend it enough. There are also other themed tours you can choose from.
Local Shopping Spots
Boysterous Couture is a new boutique run by two gentlemen. They offer handmade handbags, wallets, belts, and watchbands. Some of these accessories are made from alligator and stingray leather. You may even spot bow ties from oyster shells. Another place that is worth a visit is J. Stark. It’s a longtime family-owned bag and company that sells leather items. Plus, you can even go inside and watch them sew.
Another spot we recommend is Emeline, a hotel that opened a couple of years ago. Their store offers beautiful prints, clothes, and home goods. Parson Inn is a six-suite B&B that we also love. If you plan to visit Charleston, you’ll need to find a cozy and comfortable place to stay. We suggest going for a guest room at the Emeline Hotel.
We hope you enjoyed this guide to one of our favorite places. Charleston is definitely worth the visit, as it provides authenticity and a sense of community.
