Cillian Murphy Is Open to a Peaky Blinders Movie But Says it Was a Perfect TV Show

Cillian Murphy and Margot Robbie recently surprised fans with an Actors on Actors interview. During their talk, the Peaky Blinders actor shared that he was open to filming a movie based on the TV show. However, he also admitted that, in his opinion, the series was perfect on its own.

As Oppenheimer and Barbie were the two most successful movies of 2023, fans were surprised but also happy to see Cillian Murphy and Margot Robbie face-to-face talking about their films. During their interview, Robbie represented all Peaky Blinders fans by asking Cillian if he’d be interested in filming a movie based on the series. The Irish star said he definitely wouldn’t mind doing so as he thought more could be added to the story.

However, Murphy added that even though a movie sounded like a good idea, he was content with all six seasons of Peaky Blinders. He shared it was hard to imagine the show as a film, but he wouldn’t mind considering a good script. He had also mentioned in another interview that the plan was to have a film pick up where the series left off.

Will There Be a Peaky Blinders Movie?

Last year, Murphy mentioned something about a Peaky Blinders film being in the pipeline but didn’t give away any details. He said he hadn’t seen any script yet but confirmed that the television part of the story was finished.

Judging by his interview, the movie is either not happening or Murphy is such a good actor and he’s keeping it all a secret. The good news is that Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight confirmed he was working on a script, but that’s all. Let’s hope to enjoy another Oscar-worthy movie starring Cillian Murphy in the theaters soon!
