Barry Keoghan Reacts to Sabrina Carpenter’s Admiration for Cillian Murphy

Sabrina Carpenter recently expressed her admiration for Cillian Murphy during Vanity Fair’s Oscars party. Who wouldn’t have eyes for him, though? Barry Keoghan, another Irish actor who attended the party, had a funny reaction to her words.

Carpenter’s Admiration for Murphy

After the success of Oppenheimer, Cillian Murphy has been getting more and more attention, not just from fans, but also from fellow celebrities. During her interview, Carpenter joked that she would immediately leave the party if she saw Cillian Murphy, or leave with him so she could see where he lived.  Barry Keoghan left a simple comment under the video with a waving emoji and a shamrock.

Fans think Barry was joking because he was Sabrina’s date to the event. As always, some fans didn’t approve of Carpenter’s words. They kindly reminded her that Cillian has been happily married for almost 20 years and has children. Someone even joked about Sabrina collecting Irishmen as if they were infinity stones, as she’s been dating Barry for a few months, even though they haven’t announced it officially.

Cillian Murphy and Barry Keoghan’s History

Keoghan and Murphy first co-starred in 2017’s Dunkirk and took a photo together at the Academy Gala in December 2023. Keoghan received a Golden Globe nomination for Saltburn, and Murphy got an award for his magnificent performance in Oppenheimer in January. He also won an Oscar in the Best Actor category.

The Peaky Blinders actor shared he was proud to represent his country during his acceptance speech for his first Oscar. He talked about the importance of the movie and dedicated his award to all the peacemakers around the world. With Cillian Murphy’s success lately, it’s no surprise that other celebrities like Sabrina Carpenter harbor minor crushes on the actor!
